Andres Sarraga MD

Dr. Andres Sarraga began his journey in Puerto Rico, where he was born. Even at a very young age, he was always intrigued by surgery. He would spend his summers volunteering at the Cardiovascular Center, hoping to one day follow in his grandfather's footsteps. He received his undergraduate degree in Chicago, then attended medical school at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, where he was accepted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He stayed to complete his general surgery residency and immediately found himself engrossed in breast reconstruction. He loved the effect it had on the self-esteem.

After receiving the title of Administrative Chief Resident and becoming board-certified in general surgery, he decided to pursue a double board-certification and complete his residency as a plastic surgeon. He served at the University of Massachusetts, where he conducted additional clinical research into fat grafting and rhinoplasties, eventually allowing him to develop his own scar-free version of the rhinoplasty. He was awarded the honor of becoming Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts, before serving a fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Later, he developed his own patented technique that uses natural light to heal the skin. He calls it Healiotherapy, and he offers it as a service at his practice in Aventura, FL.
