Dr. Basu is a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Houston, Texas who is the proprietor of Basu Aesthetics + Plastic Surgery. He has a wealth of experience in cosmetic surgery and patient safety and has performed more than 16,000 aesthetic operations. Additionally, he serves as the Vice President (Finance) of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and is a highly sought-after speaker, having made more than 80 speeches and published a variety of works. Most recently, he authored "Cosmetic Breast Surgery," which focuses on contemporary surgical techniques for aesthetic breast surgery.

Dr. Basu has a podcast called "Behind the Double Doors: The Houston Plastic Surgery Podcast" where he welcomes listeners to go beyond the operating room and learn more about cosmetic surgery and non-invasive medical aesthetics. Bob Basu’s Journey

Dr. Basu obtained his academic qualifications with great distinction from Princeton University. Subsequently, he earned his MD and MPH degrees from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. His general surgery training was finished at The George Washington University Medical Center in the nation's capital. To further his plastic surgery training, he joined the renowned Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery (Division of Plastic Surgery) at Baylor College of Medicine. Additionally, he acted as an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the same institution for some time. Most recently, he obtained his MBA from Brandeis University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Basu has held a multitude of distinguished positions, such as Chief of Plastic Surgery at North Cypress Medical Center and Vice President (Finance & Treasurer) at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has also been part of the Board of Directors for both the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and was Chairman of the Patient Safety Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. For his accomplishments, Dr. Basu has been recognized with several accolades, such as Top Docs in Plastic Surgery and Top Docs for Women from HTexas Magazine (2006-2020), Texas Monthly Super Doctors in Cosmetic Surgery, US News & World Report Top Doctor in Plastic Surgery, the Best Mommy Makeover Surgeon in Houston Chronicle's Best of the Best 2021 Awards, and America’s Best Plastic Surgeons 2021 by Newsweek.
