For almost 30 years, Dr. Heather Furnas, M.D. has been committed to enhancing the physical appearance of both males and females. She has been officially certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and partnered with her spouse, Dr. Francisco Canales, to produce the Allegro MedSpa of Novato. Furthermore, she served as a Clinical Instructor in surgery at Harvard Medical School and is currently holding the role of Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Stanford University. Her main goal is to offer the highest quality of care most honestly.

Dr. Furnas is widely renowned for the procedures like mommy makeovers (including breast augmentation and tummy tucks), eyelid lifts, face-lifts, and labiaplasty/vaginal rejuvenation. In 2016, she was honored with the Tiffany Award for the top scientific paper presented at the yearly Aesthetic Society meeting.

Heather Furnas’ Journey

Dr. Heather Furnas is a well-respected plastic surgeon from Santa Rosa with an impressive academic background. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stanford University, and her medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and was invited to join the plastic surgery faculty at Harvard Medical School in 1990. She also worked at Beth Israel Hospital. Later, Dr. Furnas relocated to California and established Plastic Surgery Associates with her husband, Dr. Francisco Canales. She has since earned a distinguished reputation in the region for her expertise and caring approach.

Dr. Furnas is an Assistant Professor at Stanford University, who works part-time in the field of Plastic Surgery, and mentors students in the same. She has given talks worldwide and her articles on Vaginal Rejuvenation have been featured in prominent publications of the plastic surgery field. In 2017, she was honored with the ASAPS Tiffany award for her paper on "Why Women Select Labiaplasty". She was also the guest editor for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for a series of articles on Women in Plastic Surgery and the work was subsequently awarded an Ozzie Honorable Mention Award. Additionally, she is an associate editor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has held managerial roles in both ASPS and ASAPS.
