John Ayala, MD, FACS is a board-certified plastic surgeon and the head of Ayala Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ayala's educational path started at The University of Texas at Austin, where he was awarded his undergraduate degree. In 1987, he was accepted to Baylor College of Medicine, from which he graduated with a Doctor of Medicine four years later. Subsequently, he did a general surgery internship and residency at Texas Tech University's Health Science Center. After that, he completed a plastic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, being promoted to Chief Resident throughout this program. In addition, Dr. Ayala was mentored by renowned plastic surgeons Dr. David McInnis and Dr. John Bostwick III during his residencies. His years of education and training earned him board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 2000, allowing him to set up his private practice.
