More about Dr. Joseph O'Connell
About
For two decades, Dr. O'Connell has been honored by his peers as a "Top Doctor" in the Castle Connolly New York Metro Area. He was also recognized as an Examination Board member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. At Bridgeport Hospital (affiliated with Yale University), O'Connell was the youngest plastic surgery chief and served in that role for seven years. Moreover, he has been an accreditation facility examiner for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities and has been the facility director of an independent surgical facility in Connecticut since its founding.
Dr. O'Connell has written a great deal about facial rejuvenation techniques such as facelifts, eyelid surgeries, and breast surgeries. His main article on the BiDirectional Facelift was the lead story in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal in September 2015. Additionally, his newest work on drainless abdominoplasty was printed in the Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2018. The CBS Early Show recently presented Dr. O’Connell performing a short-scar facelift, as well as a local anesthetic-based upper blepharoplasty. Furthermore, the August 2015 issue of Aesthetic Surgery Journal featured his techniques for facelifts. Moreover, Dr. O'Connell and his colleagues were the first to invent the "no touch" laser resurfacing method for lower lid blepharoplasty, which is now commonly requested in our clinic.
